Brixton Splash 2012 Celebrates Jamaica's 50th

Brixton Splash is a free community street festival led by the local community. The event is aimed at celebrating the area’s diversity, its progress through the years and the fusion of the numerous ethnic groups that now call Brixton home. It is a celebration of peaceful relations, vibrant living in Brixton and Brixton’s contribution to the wider London culture.
This year’s theme in honour of the Jamaica 50 celebrations is ‘Out of Many, One People’.
We are delighted that this year’s event has been listed on the Jamaican High Commission’s Official Events Calendar for the celebrations of Jamaica 50.  This year’s event will celebrate this special anniversary and its connection to the Brixton Community in a wide variety of ways.
Made in Jamaica’ – Jamaican National one of longest standing and proudest supporters of Brixton Splash will be creating a showcase for Brixtonians and visitors alike to come and sample the finest that Jamaica has to offer in food, drinks and produce.
So put it on your calendar:  Sunday 5th August 2012, 12pm – 7pm
