Sure, I'm an urban girl and I love my "all black, don't look at me uniform" especially as I run to the garment district and mingle with the other designers, but nothing beats a white summer dress when the temperature hits above 90 degrees in New York City.  

As a resortwear brand, I consider summer my best opportunity to humbly show off my collection.  It is  my best research and development, that is, to go somewhere wearing one of my pieces and be paid a compliment or asked "where did I get that from?".  Even if it's just looks of admiration, that's a plus.  The hardest part about designing a collection you're proud of is keeping the previews to a minimum before they hit the stores, especially since my website isn't complete.

Here, I am on my way to a MeetUp with the NomadNess Travel Tribe at Yotel, a modern hip hotel near Times Square, New York City.  I met my friend Kamara (the fab jewelry designer of my necklace, which matched the pattern in my dress perfectly) on the subway and headed to their patio restaurant DohYo, to indulge in three hours of stuffing our faces with their unlimited Sunday brunch.  

I quickly gained a fan club at the other table AND a full tummy that was easily camouflaged by the pattern.  Double WIN!  Thank goodness for the texture in the fabric, no one needs to know what's going on under there.  Comfort, color, ease of wear and value are all things I take into consideration as I design my collection.  I mean, a good tan will make you look skinny instantly, so if you're going to indulge in that extra glass of mimosa or slice of bacon, this is the perfect dress for summer.
